5. Audio-Frequency Voltage: Audio-frequency voltages up to 150 volts may be present at the 600-ohm SPKR terminals under certain conditions. Turn the AUDIO GAIN control to 0 before touching these terminals.

6. Connector Cable Terminal Strips: Never remove the sheet metal covers from the connector cable terminal strips without first detaching the plug from the a-c power line or disconnecting the batteries. Turning the OFF-ON switch to OFF is not sufficient.

7. Rescue in Case of Electric Shock: In case of electric shock, shut off the high voltage immediately and ground the circuits. If this cannot be done quickly, free the victim from contact with the live conductor using a nonconductor like a dry board or clothing. Avoid direct contact with the live conductor or the victim’s body. An ax may be used to cut the high-voltage wire, but extreme caution is necessary to avoid the resulting electric flash.

8. Symptoms of Electric Shock: Breathing may stop abruptly if the current passes through the breathing center at the base of the brain. The victim may appear very white or blue, with a weak or absent pulse, complete unconsciousness, and possible burns. The body may become rigid or stiff due to the electricity.
