The installation/setup highlights for the Valhalla Scientific 4100 Series Digital Ohmmeters include the following:
1. Inspection: If the shipping carton is damaged, have the carrier’s agent present during unpacking. Check for internal damage even if the unit appears undamaged. If the unit fails to operate, notify the carrier’s agent and the nearest Valhalla Sales Office.
2. Line Voltage/Fuse Selection: Verify the instrument is set for the proper local AC line voltage and the correct fuse is installed. For 105 to 125 VAC, use a 0.5 Amp Slo-blo fuse; for 210 to 250 VAC, use a 0.125 Amp Slo-blo fuse.
3. Bench Use: The unit comes with hardware for bench use. Familiarize yourself with Sections 4, 5, and 6 of the manual before operation.
4. Rack Mounting: Optional brackets are available for rack mounting. The unit must be supported on both sides along its entire length. Install blank panels at least 1.75 inches high between units to ensure airflow. Do not exceed ambient air temperatures of 50°C during operation or 70°C when power is removed.
5. Safety Precautions: Use a three-contact power plug with a continuous ground connection. Special precautions are necessary when testing inductive loads like transformers to prevent damage or injury.
