Operation

The Wavetek Model 1801A Sweep/Signal Generator operates in sweep and continuous wave (CW) modes. It covers a frequency range from 1 to 500 MHz, extendable to 950 MHz with the high band. The device can sweep each band entirely or reduce the sweep width to CW operation. It offers a calibrated 75 ohm output system with an adjustable attenuation range from +57dBmV to -33dBmV. The sweep can be set at line frequency, 60 Hz, or as slow as 1 sweep in 100 seconds. A special sweep rate position is available for faster testing with adjustable sweep time from 1 to 10 milliseconds and repetition rate from 1 to 10 seconds. The device supports remote programming for frequency, sweep width, and vernier output control. Sweep modes include repetitive, single, externally triggered, manual, and line-lock sweep, with sweep time adjustable from 10 to 100 milliseconds and 1 second to 100 seconds.
