Im Frontmodul sind viele betriebsnotwendige Daten gespeichert. Die im RAM gespeicherten Daten können vom Gerät selbst wiederhergestellt werden, die Daten im Flash-EPROM jedoch nur mit Hilfsmitteln. Besteht die Gefahr, den Speicherinhalt der Flash-EPROMs zu verlieren, muss sichergestellt sein, dass neue Firmware geladen werden kann, eine Pegelkalibration durchgeführt werden kann, die Kalibrierdaten des Referenzoszillators wiederhergestellt oder eine Kalibration durchgeführt werden kann, und die Betriebsdaten im Menü UTILITIES/DIAG/PARAM wiederhergestellt werden können. Vor Arbeiten am Frontmodul sollten die betreffenden Daten notiert werden. Zur Wiederherstellung muss für die Kalibrierdaten des Referenzoszillators der Passwortschutz Level 2 entriegelt werden, das Passwort ist 250751. Danach kann im Menü UTILITIES/CALIB/REF OSC der notierte Wert wieder eingegeben und gespeichert werden. Für die Betriebsdaten muss der Passwortschutz Level 3 entriegelt werden, das Passwort ist bei der R&S-Vertretung zu erfragen. Das Menü UTILITIES/DIAG/SET PARAM wird dann sichtbar und die Daten können wieder eingegeben werden.
