4. Some service checks require working inside the set with high voltage on. Always have another person present who can render aid and keep one hand in your pocket to prevent touching the electrical circuit with more than one part of the body.
5. Audio-frequency voltages up to 150 volts may be present at the 600-ohm SPKR terminals under certain conditions. Turn the AUDIO GAIN control to 0 before touching these terminals.
6. Never remove sheet metal covers from connector cable terminal strips without first detaching the plug from the a-c power line or disconnecting the batteries; turning the OFF-ON switch to OFF is not enough.
7. In case of electric shock, shut off the high voltage immediately and ground the circuits. If this is not possible, free the victim from contact with the live conductor using a nonconductor. Avoid direct contact with the live conductor or the victim’s body.
8. In case of electric shock, symptoms include abrupt cessation of breathing, very weak or absent pulse, complete unconsciousness, and possible burns. The victim’s body may become rigid or stiff quickly.
