DMCA & Copyright Policy

ManualsPlus ("we", "us", or "our") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of our site to do the same. It is our policy to respond to clear, properly formatted notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. §512.

Important: This page is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you have questions about your rights, you should consult an attorney.

1. Scope of This Policy

ManualsPlus primarily indexes and hosts electronic manuals and documentation for electronic, test and laboratory equipment. Some manuals may be uploaded by users or obtained from sources that represent they have the right to share them. If you believe that material available on or through ManualsPlus infringes your copyright, you may request that it be removed or access to it blocked.

2. How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of one, please send a written DMCA notice including all of the following information:

  1. Your contact information.
Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and valid email address.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by your notice, you may provide a representative list.
  3. Identification of the infringing material.
The exact URL(s) on ManualsPlus where the material you claim is infringing is located. Please provide direct links to the specific manual page(s) or file(s), not just the homepage.
  4. A statement of good-faith belief.
A statement such as: “I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. Accuracy and authority statement.
A statement such as: “The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.
Typing your full legal name at the end of the notice will be considered an electronic signature.

Send your DMCA notice to our designated agent:

DMCA Agent
ManualsPlus
Email: support@manualsplus.com

For efficiency, we strongly prefer DMCA notices by email. Notices that do not contain all of the required information may be delayed or may not receive a response.

3. What Happens After We Receive a DMCA Notice

Once a complete and valid DMCA notice is received, we will:

  • Review the notice to confirm it is complete and compliant with the DMCA.
  • Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material, at our discretion.
  • Make a good-faith attempt to notify the user who uploaded or provided the material (if applicable) that we have removed or disabled access to it.

We may also share a copy of your notice, including your contact details, with the user who posted the material or with third parties as required by law. By submitting a DMCA notice, you consent to this disclosure.

4. Counter-Notification (Restoration of Material)

If you believe that material removed or disabled as a result of a DMCA notice was taken down in error, or that you are authorized to use the material, you may send us a counter-notification under the DMCA.

Your counter-notification must include ALL of the following:

  1. Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the URL at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the judicial district in which you reside (or, if you are outside the United States, that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in any district in which ManualsPlus may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or their agent.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is sufficient).

Send your counter-notification to the same DMCA Agent address listed above.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may reinstate the material within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a legal action seeking a court order to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

5. Repeat Infringers

It is our policy, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, to disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also remove any content that appears to infringe the rights of others, whether or not we receive a formal DMCA notice.

6. Misrepresentations

Under the DMCA, any person who knowingly makes false claims in a notice or counter-notification may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney’s fees. Please ensure that you only report materials that you genuinely believe infringe your rights.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this DMCA & Copyright Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.

Last updated: (update this date when you modify the policy).
