The manual for the Bk precision Model 600 Tube Tester provides instructions for setting up and operating the device, including how to insert tubes, observe meter readings, and check for shorts using specific adapters. It also includes troubleshooting steps such as interpreting meter deflections to determine if a tube is defective and rotating switches to check for additional shorts.
Manual Overview
The Bk Precision Model 600 Tube Tester manual provides detailed instructions for testing and diagnosing tube conditions. To begin, users must refer to the tube chart to set the Heater Switch and the “A,” “B,” and “C” switches according to the tube type. After inserting the tube, technicians should observe the SHORTS lamp for any short indications. The Grid Emission button is then pressed; if the meter deflects into the “Grid Emission—Reject” area, the tube is defective. For quality assessment, pressing the Quality button allows reading on the “Good—?—Bad” scale. The “C” switch should be rotated through all positions to check for additional shorts, with the SHORTS lamp providing indications. The manual also mentions adapters, such as TC-63 and TC-62, for testing specific tube types. It advises against pushing certain tubes fully into the socket and emphasizes ignoring all shorts except those on specified positions. The document is focused on ensuring accurate diagnostics and proper handling of various tube types.
Quick Issues Covered
- Diagnose tube defects using Grid Emission and Quality buttons.
- Identify shorts using the SHORTS lamp and C switch positions.
