Operation
The manual provides instructions for basic usage of the BK Precision 312B AC Current Clamp Meter. For ACA measurement, switch the function selector to the A~ range, open the clamp by pressing the jaw-opening handle, insert the cable to be measured into the jaw, close the clamp, and read the result from the LCD panel. For ACV measurement, switch the function selector to the V~ range, connect the red test lead to the “+” terminal and the black one to the “COM” terminal, measure the voltage by touching the test lead tips to the test circuit, and read the result from the LCD panel. For resistance measurement, switch the function selector to the Ω range, connect the test leads to the “+” and “COM” terminals, connect the tips of the test leads to the points where the resistance value is needed, and read the result from the LCD panel. For continuity tests, switch the function selector to the continuity range, connect the test leads to the “+” and “COM” terminals, connect the tips of the test leads to the points where the conducting condition is needed, and if the resistance is under 100Ω, the beeper will sound continuously.

Safety & Warnings
Do not operate the tester if the body of the meter or the test lead looks broken. Check the main function dial and make sure it is at the correct position before each measurement. Do not perform resistance and continuity tests on a live power system. Do not apply voltage between the test terminals and test terminal to ground that exceed the maximum limit referred to in this manual. Exercise extreme caution when measuring live systems with voltage greater than 60V DC or 30V AC. Keep the fingers after the protection ring when measuring through the test lead. Change the battery when the symbol appears to avoid incorrect data.
