3. Use the “one hand in the pocket” technique while handling an instrument probe to avoid contacting a nearby metal object that could provide a ground return path.
4. Always use an isolation transformer to power transformerless “hot chassis” equipment to prevent dangerous shock hazards and potential damage to test instruments or equipment under test.
5. Use only a 3-wire outlet for test instruments or equipment with a 3-wire AC power plug to keep housing or other exposed elements at earth ground.
