Operation
The manual describes the operation and basic usage steps for the BK Precision Models 1760A, 1761, and 1762 Triple Output DC Power Supplies. These power supplies feature two main adjustable supplies and a third auxiliary output. The main supplies can be used independently or in series or parallel tracking modes. In series tracking, the “B” supply tracks from 5% to 100% of the “A” supply’s voltage, allowing for double the voltage setting when connected in series. In parallel tracking, the supplies are connected in parallel for double the current setting. The supplies can operate in constant voltage or constant current modes, with smooth automatic crossover between the two. LED indicators show the mode of operation. The third supply is ideal for digital logic circuitry with a current output of 0-5A and built-in overload protection. The power supplies offer excellent regulation, low ripple, reverse polarity protection, and current limiting. The output is isolated from chassis and earth ground, allowing flexible connections.

Safety & Warnings
Normal use of test equipment can expose users to electrical shock, especially when testing where high voltage is present. A current of 10 milliamps passing through the heart can be fatal, and voltages as low as 35 volts DC or AC rms can be dangerous. To prevent electrical shock, follow these precautions:
1. The DC output of the power supply poses little shock danger, but certain test conditions can create high voltage shock hazards:
a. A “hot chassis” type equipment under test poses a serious shock hazard unless unplugged or isolated with a transformer.
b. If the equipment under test is powered and uses high voltage, the power supply outputs may be floated to the potential at the connection point. Do not float the power supply output to more than 100 volts peak with respect to chassis or earth ground.
c. If the equipment under test is off but uses high voltage, discharge high-voltage capacitors before making connections or tests.
2. Use a polarized 3-wire AC outlet to ensure the power supply chassis, case, and ground terminal are connected to a good earth ground, reducing shock danger.
3. Avoid exposing high voltage unnecessarily. Remove housings and covers only when necessary, turn off equipment while making test connections in high-voltage circuits, and discharge high-voltage capacitors after removing power.

Basic Usage and Operation Tips
Before starting measurements, ensure the multimeter is properly calibrated and the test leads are in good condition. Select the appropriate measurement mode and range based on the parameter you intend to measure. Always connect the black lead to the COM terminal and the red lead to the VΩmA or 10A terminal depending on the current range. For voltage and resistance measurements, connect the probes across the component or circuit points. When measuring current, connect the meter in series with the circuit. Use the data hold feature to capture readings when working in hard-to-see areas.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
If the display shows erratic readings or no response, check the battery and replace it if necessary. Inspect test leads for damage or wear and replace if faulty. Clean the device regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures. If the multimeter fails to power on or shows persistent errors, refer to the detailed troubleshooting section in the manual or contact authorized service centers.
Safety Reminder
Always observe proper safety precautions when using the Bk-precision-1761. Do not exceed the maximum input limits specified in the manual to avoid damage or injury. Avoid measuring live circuits if you are unsure of the procedure. Use insulated test leads and keep fingers behind the probe guards during measurements. Disconnect power before opening the device for maintenance or battery replacement.
