Safety & Warnings
This product and related documentation must be reviewed for familiarization with safety markings and instructions before operation. This product is a Safety Class I instrument, provided with a protective earth terminal. Before applying power, verify that the product is set to match the available line voltage and the correct fuse is installed. An uninterruptible safety earth ground must be provided from the mains power source to the product input wiring terminals or supplied power cable.
Safety symbols include:
– Instruction manual symbol: indicates the need to refer to the instruction manual.
– Hazardous voltages symbol.
– Terminal connected to chassis symbol.
– Alternating current symbol.
– Direct current symbol.
Warnings include:
– Any interruption of the protective grounding conductor or disconnecting the protective earth terminal will cause a potential shock hazard.
– If the instrument’s protection is impaired, it must be made inoperative and secured against unintended operation.
– When using an autotransformer for voltage reduction, ensure the common terminal is connected to the earthed pole terminal of the power source.
– Adjustments or servicing should only be performed by service-trained personnel to avoid electric shock.
– Replace line fuses only with 250V fuses of the same current rating and type. Do not use repaired fuses or short-circuited fuseholders.
– Always use a step-down isolation transformer when measuring power line signals to ensure compatibility with the product’s input measurement capabilities. Never attempt to measure AC power line signals without an isolation transformer.
