3. Receiver Safety Notice: With the dust cover and bottom plate removed, voltages up to 250 volts are exposed on top of the chassis, and up to 400 volts underneath. Some service checks require high voltage to be on, and another person capable of rendering aid should be present. Keep one hand in your pocket to prevent touching the electrical circuit with more than one part of the body at a time.
4. Audio-Frequency Voltage Warning: Audio-frequency voltages up to 150 volts may be present at the 600-ohm SPKR terminals under certain conditions. Turn the AUDIO GAIN control to 0 before touching these terminals.
5. Connector Cable Terminal Strips Precaution: Never remove the sheet metal covers from the connector cable terminal strips without first detaching the plug from the a-c power line or disconnecting the batteries. Simply turning the OFF-ON switch to OFF is not sufficient.
6. Electric Shock Rescue Procedure: In case of electric shock, shut off the high voltage immediately and ground the circuits. If unable to turn off the high voltage promptly, free the victim from contact using a dry board, dry clothing, or other nonconductor. Avoid direct contact with the live conductor or the victim’s body. An ax may be used to cut the high-voltage wire, but extreme caution is necessary to avoid the resulting electric flash.
7. Artificial Respiration Guidance: If electric shock causes breathing to stop, artificial respiration should be administered immediately. The manual provides detailed instructions on how to perform artificial respiration and manage the victim’s condition.
