Overview

The R. L. Drake model T-4 Reciter and T-4X Transmitter are designed for selectable single sideband, semi break-in CW, and controlled carrier AM transmission. They cover the 160 through 10 meters Amateur bands and other non-ham band frequencies. The T-4 is intended for use with the R-4 Receiver for transceiving on the frequency to which the R-4 is tuned, while the T-4X is a complete transmitter that can be used for transceiving with the R-4 Receiver or independently. Both units feature CW sidetone oscillator, automatic transmit-receive switching on CW, transmitting AGC, plate meter/relative output indicator, crystal lattice filters for sideband selection, receiver muting, receiver antenna switching, and VOX and PTT operation.
