Safety & Warnings
Electricity can cause severe injuries even with low voltages or currents. It is crucial to read the following information before using the Analog Insulation Tester:
1. The instrument must only be used and operated by a competent, trained person and in strict accordance with the instructions. Liability will not be accepted for any damage or injury caused by misuse or non-compliance with instructions and safety procedures.
2. The instrument must not be used on live circuits. Ensure all circuits are de-energized before testing. The tester has built-in warning features if connected to a live system.
3. Never open the tester except for battery replacement.
4. Always inspect the tester and test leads for any sign of abnormality or damage before use. If any abnormal conditions exist, do not attempt to take any measurement or use the tester. Return it to the nearest distributor for service.
5. Never replace the protective fuse with any other than the specified or approved equivalent.
6. The tester is designed with safety in mind, but no design can completely protect against incorrect use. Use caution in the presence of voltage above 24V as these pose a shock hazard.
7. Pay attention to cautions and warnings indicating potentially dangerous procedures.
8. The tester has a live circuit warning bleeper. If connected to an AC live circuit, a beep of twice the frequency of the voltage present will be heard. Do not proceed to test and immediately disconnect the instrument from the circuit. Additionally, the warning light will light if the voltage is above 100Vdc or 70Vac. When AC voltage is present, its value is displayed on the AC scale.
Safety Notes:
– Rated environmental conditions include indoor use, installation category II, pollution degree 2, and altitude up to 2000M.
– The meter is protected by double insulation or reinforced insulation.
– There is a risk of electric shock.
– Refer to the manual before using the meter.
