Safety & Warnings
This is a Safety Class I instrument, meaning it is provided with a terminal for protective earthing. Before applying power, verify that the power transformer primary is matched to the available line voltage, the correct fuse is installed, and safety precautions are taken. The protective earth terminal must be connected to the protective conductor of the mains power cord, and the mains plug should only be inserted in a socket outlet with a protective earth contact. Using an extension cord without a protective conductor is not sufficient protection. If energized via an autotransformer, ensure the common terminal is connected to the earth terminal of the power source. Any interruption of the protective conductor or disconnecting the protective earth terminal can make the instrument dangerous, and intentional interruption is prohibited. If protection is impaired, the instrument must be made inoperative and secured against unintended operation. Only use fuses with the required rated current and specified type for replacement. Avoid using repaired fuses and short-circuiting fuse-holders. Adjustments described in the manual are performed with power supplied to the instrument while protective covers are removed, and any adjustment, maintenance, and repair under voltage should be avoided as much as possible, and only carried out by a skilled person aware of the hazards involved. Capacitors inside the instrument may still be charged even if the instrument has been disconnected from its power source.
